It runs on the last Monday of every month, 9 to 11 PM, in the same midtown room as the improvisation class. Standards from the common repertoire, a rhythm section to play with, and two bandleaders whose job for the night is to help you sound good. Bring your instrument — piano, drum kit and bass amp are already there.
This is a jam, not a performance. Sitting in for the first time is a normal reason to be in the room: say so when you arrive and we will set you up.
Pay what you can. We suggest $20, and it goes to the musicians who lead the night. If that is not possible right now, come anyway — nobody is turned away over money. Space is limited to 15 players, so please reserve a spot.
